Host guide
Get started
You can submit an event without signing in. Sign in with a username and password, or continue with Google, if you want to manage the listing later. Create a listing on Submit. After that, use the Host hub to see RSVPs, comments, and tools for that event.
Create an event
Open Submit and fill in the form. Required fields are marked with an asterisk.
- Title, date, start and end time — required. Add an end date only if the event spans more than one day.
- Short URL — optional custom link like
fusionfinder.org/e/friday-blues. Letters, numbers, and hyphens. Leave blank and we’ll make a short one from the title. You can change it later in Host hub. - Repeats — none, weekly (same weekday), monthly (same calendar date), or monthly on the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th weekday (for example every 2nd Saturday). The weekday pattern is taken from the start date. Optional “repeat until”; if you leave it blank, upcoming dates show for about six months.
- Dance style — Blues, Fusion, Micro, Soul, or Other (then type a custom style). Optional comma-separated sub-styles.
- Venue (optional), region (Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego), and address.
- Price (defaults to Free) and skill level (All levels, Beginner, Beginner+, Intermediate, Advanced, or Open level).
- Description — required. You can bold, italicize, underline, strike, add lists and links. Up to 2,000 characters.
- Contact — email (required if you are not signed in, so we can send the listing link). Signed-in hosts can also add Instagram or a website.
- More Info Link — optional URL for tickets, an event page, Instagram, or other details.
- Media — one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, 5 MB each). Mark one as the main image for search cards. Optional video (MP4/WebM, 25 MB) and PDF (10 MB).
- Email me when someone comments — optional. Uses the email on your Fusion Finder account; you can turn it off later by editing the event.
Submit for approval when you are ready. You can clear the form or leave and come back after signing in again.
Approval
Most new listings wait for a site admin before they appear on the public calendar, list, or map. You stay listed as the host. When the event is approved, you get an email with a shareable link.
If an admin has added you as a trusted host, new events go live as soon as you publish, and edits stay public. Otherwise, edits you save go back to pending until they are approved again.
Host hub
Sign in and open Host. Your events appear on the left with a status badge (pending, approved, or cancelled). Select one to work with it.
- View — opens the public event page.
- Short URL — copy or change the shareable
/e/…link without re-submitting the whole listing. - Edit — loads the listing on Submit so you can change details, media, or comment emails.
- Cancel event — see Cancel below (hidden once the event is already cancelled).
- Refresh — reloads RSVPs and comments.
- New event — starts another listing on Submit.
RSVPs
For the selected event, Host hub shows who marked Going and who marked Interested, with name and email when the dancer shared one.
- Copy going emails — copies Going emails to the clipboard (comma-separated).
- Export CSV — downloads name, email, and status for everyone who RSVP’d.
Comments
Dancers can comment on the public event page (up to 1,000 characters). In Host hub you can:
- Reply as the host from the compose box under the thread.
- Delete any comment on that event (including other people’s). On the public page, people can delete only their own comments.
If you checked “Email me when someone comments” when you created or edited the event, new comments go to your account email.
Host updates
Post an update from Host hub or from the public event page while you are signed in as the host. Updates are not available after you cancel.
- Pick a type: Just sharing, Last spots, Schedule note, Playlist, Afterparty, or Weather.
- Write up to 500 characters with the same formatting tools as the description (bold, italic, lists, links). Emoji is fine.
- Optionally attach a photo (JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF, up to 5 MB).
Dancers who RSVP’d can be emailed about the update.
Cancel
Cancel from Host hub (or from the event page if you are the host). The listing stays on the site, marked cancelled. Guests who RSVP’d can be emailed. You cannot permanently remove a live listing; only a site admin can delete one.
